Sum 2026

Northrop Grumman Corp. (NGC)

Integration & Testing Mechanical Engineering Intern · Sterling, VA
  • Supported assembly of the Cygnus ISS resupply spacecraft and several other satellite programs; contributed to rigging, assembly, and testing of flight hardware in ISO Class 8 (100k) cleanrooms.
  • Developed a bolt-torque sequencing process to simplify and standardize a major spacecraft module mating procedure.
  • Recalculated and streamlined proof load specifications for a large set of satellite lifting fixtures, applying structural analysis principles to ensure safety and compliance in mission-critical hardware operations.
May 2024 –
Jul 2024

Caterpillar Inc. (CAT)

Small Wheel Loader Structures Design Engineer Intern · Clayton, NC
  • Developed nine iterative concepts for a concrete-filled steel-shell counterweight for the upcoming lower-priced “General Construction” Small Wheel Loader (SWL), analyzing moment, turn radius, departure angle, component interference, manufacturability, and material costs.
  • Ran FEA on the SWL articulation lockout to test failure cases for ISO compliance — simulations identified incorrect safety-link installation as the root cause of field failures.
  • Applied external (ISO) and internal (1E) quality standards across all projects, addressing variables from operator size to bolted-joint criteria.
Jun 2023 –
Aug 2023

Hendrick Motorsports (HMS)

Design Engineer Intern · Concord, NC
  • Designed race components for NASCAR Cup Series cars 5, 9, 24, and 48 in Siemens NX — including intake mounts, drill fixtures, gear shift force calculations, shims, and bolts.
  • Inspected 100+ parts for NASCAR Cup Series rules compliance and revised drawings as needed using HMS’s fully digital PLM workflow in Teamcenter.
  • Assisted HMS Defense in product development, revising components and creating comprehensive documentation for products and support equipment delivered to the US and international militaries.
  • Contributed to the Medical Chinook trailer training documentation, STEED Wheel Hub redesign, GM Infantry Squad Vehicle (ISV) fixtures, and other small components.

BOLT Electric Motorcycle Race Team

Admin Lead (2025/2026) · Chassis Engineer · Virginia Tech
  • Led a team of 100+ engineers with a mid-five-figure design and build budget, managing and promoting the team at events.
  • Drafted mockups of a team-first electric dirtbike frame, housing a 50hp motor with “warm”-swappable capabilities for senior design.
  • Designed, simulated, and fabricated the 400kW motor mount, switching from steel to aluminum for 6 lbs of weight savings.
